Confirm the glass

Match body style, trim and year range. Read driver/passenger, fixed/roll-up and interior/exterior labels, then compare the diagram with your vehicle.

Compare VLT separately

VLT describes visible light transmission. A lower number is darker. It does not establish heat rejection, UV rejection or film construction.

Plan the installation

Confirm the included pieces, tools and preparation. Ask your installer about the original glass, local requirements and the film’s directions.

Film VLT ≠ finished-window VLT

Original glass also filters light. As an estimate, 80% glass × 50% film ≈ 40% combined transmission. Have the finished window measured when confirming compliance.

Window tint FAQs

What does the VLT percentage mean?

Visible light transmission is the percentage of visible light that passes through a material. A lower film VLT number means a darker film. It does not state the heat rejection or UV performance. Check those specifications separately on the selected product.

Is the film percentage the same as my finished window?

No. The original glass also affects light transmission. For example, 80% glass with 50% film gives an approximate combined transmission of 40% (0.80 × 0.50). This is an estimate; have the completed window measured when confirming compliance.

How do I find a pre-cut kit for my vehicle?

Choose your make, exact model and trim, then the year range that includes your vehicle. Compare the pattern diagram and the listed window position with your glass. Check body style, sensors, openings and any modifications before ordering.

Does a pre-cut tint listing include the whole vehicle?

Only when the included-pieces list explicitly says so. Many listings cover one window or a specific pair. Driver, passenger, fixed glass, roll-up glass, sunroof and windshield pieces are different products. Read the title, diagram and contents together.

Should I buy a roll or a pre-cut pattern?

Roll material needs a measured layout and cutting plan. A pre-cut pattern is made for the listed vehicle and glass position, but still needs preparation and careful alignment. Choose the format with the person installing it.

Which tint percentage can I use on my vehicle?

Requirements depend on the jurisdiction, window position and vehicle type. Confirm current requirements with the relevant motor-vehicle authority and your installer before choosing film. A product being available for sale does not establish that it is permitted on every window.

Are these films ceramic?

Do not infer film construction from the shade or product photo. Check the selected SKU’s material description and performance data. VLT, UV rejection and heat rejection are different specifications.

Can I install window tint myself?

The film, glass curvature, work area and your experience affect the result. Pre-cut material still requires preparation and application skill. Review the selected film’s instructions, tools and installation method; consult an installer for complex glass or uncertain fitment.

What should I check about care, returns and warranty?

Review the film’s curing and cleaning directions and keep the product and installation details. Read the return policy before cutting or applying film. Ask for the written warranty that applies to the exact SKU and installation.
